Synopsis
Orphaned as a boy, Peter Parker is raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben. Shy and withdrawn, he is regularly bullied at school — until he falls for Gwen Stacy, the most popular girl there, and a tentative first love gives his lonely life some hope.
After discovering a mysterious briefcase his father left behind at Uncle Ben's house, Peter starts hunting for clues to his parents' strange disappearance, which leads him to Dr. Curt Connors, his father's old lab partner. Bitten by a spider in an accident, Peter suddenly finds he can climb walls and swing across the city — and becomes the masked figure the press and the public argue over: Spider-Man.
The secret forces him to hide his identity from Gwen and from her father, the city's police captain. And when he learns that Dr. Connors is in fact the villain known as the Lizard, Peter has to decide how to answer the doubts about Spider-Man's identity and powers, and step forward regardless to save the people of New York.
